It's Friday, 5 o'clock. I log off work for the week, feeling fully ready to enjoy the weekend. And a bit hungry too—did I even remember to take lunch today? Regardless, I consult my partner, and we decide on a dinner date at home, determined to enjoy date night to the fullest while staying in.
How, you might ask? Cocktails, pasta, and these incredible table linens sourced from L.A. design house, Atelier Saucier.
Dinners are bland no more once you dress them up, and these linen pieces did just that for our date night tablescape. I laid out all of the linens, set out our fanciest plates and forks, crafted some cocktails, and away we went with date night. Just this time, we sat at the table a little longer than usual. We laughed, we drank, and we felt like we were somewhere special, right at home. It may seem crazy to attribute a great date night to some linen napkins, but call me crazy: I think they were to thank.

Praised by the New York Times, Martha Stewart Living, and Goop alike, Atelier Saucier is the home of sustainable tablescape pieces—with some offerings that can even be monogrammed or customized to your liking. What's notably cool about Atelier Saucier is the construction of their linens. They source from surplus, unused materials from fashion houses, making their products a beautiful and sustainable choice.
Sitting and eating our meal felt instantly fancier with the addition of these pieces, which included napkins, a table runner, and amazing washable cocktail napkins. My picks are as follows: a matching black tie-dye runner and napkins as well as simple and chic aperitif napkins.
I thought these dark linen napkins were stunning. I knew they would coordinate super nicely with my black matte dinnerware—and they did not disappoint. The rich black is contrasted with brassy trim in copper, navy, and purple to represent the night sky.
To complement the napkins, I chose the adjoining table runner to match. It made the perfect centerpiece when setting the table and gave such an elegant backdrop to my other table settings.
Brightening things up, we have the Rainbow Sky cocktail napkins. These come in all sorts of adorable, soft colorways and are truly a standout piece from Atelier Saucier. Cocktail napkins are usually throwaway pieces—nothing notable about them. They usually are damp and discarded by the end of the night. But these, these are beautiful. They made my homemade cocktails pop and absorbed the condensation with ease.
The linens are definitely an investment, but a worthy one. Supporting a small business rather than picking up linens at your local big box store is supporting the hard, passionate work of those behind the brand.
It's wonderful to have quality pieces that are going to last forever and decorate several special tablescapes to come, even beyond date night, to elevate the everyday.
