Amazon
Material: Mulberry silk | Weight: 25 momme | Sizes: Standard, Queen, King | Care: Dry clean or hand wash recommended; machine wash delicate
Overall, you can't do much better than Fishers Finery's silk pillowcase. Not only is it relatively affordable, but it has a silky smooth, almost blouse-like feel, washes well, and made our tester's hair noticeably less frizzy. It's made from 100 percent pure Mulberry silk and has an impressive 25-momme weight, plus comes in a variety of colors, including white, navy, lavender, pink, and even black. Just take note that it has a slightly less shiny finish than other pillowcases, which could be a good thing if you want it to blend in more with the rest of your bedding.
Although you can machine-wash this pillowcase, Fishers Finery recommends dry cleaning or hand washing for the best results. If you do opt to machine-wash, use the delicate or hand wash cycle and consider using a mesh laundry bag to keep it protected. Our reviewer found that this pillowcase hold up well in the wash, so you shouldn't have any issues.
Best Budget: Quince 100% Mulberry Silk Pillowcase

Quince
Material: Mulberry silk | Weight: 22 momme | Sizes: Standard/Queen, King | Care: Hand wash recommended; machine wash delicate
You'll find plenty of inexpensive silk pillowcases on the market, but very few are worth buying. Quince's silk pillowcase, while slightly more expensive than the cheapest options you can find, offers the best quality for the lowest price. Made of 22-momme, 100 percent mulberry silk, this pillowcase comes in six colors and two sizes, so you have several options to choose from.
The only downside our reviewer found is that the sizing is a bit off, with extra length and not quite enough width. Even so, the material feels more high-end than the lower price would suggest, and it holds up well with washing.
Best Splurge: Blissy Silk Pillowcase

The best part is that Blissy's pillowcase is actually machine-washable, and looks and feels just like new after washing. Blissy also stands out for offering a huge range of colors, including 24 solid hues and 6 patterns, like trendy tie-dye.

Material: Mulberry silk | Weight: 22 momme | Sizes: Queen, King | Care: Dry clean or hand wash recommended; machine wash delicate
Slip is practically synonymous with silk pillowcases and sleep accessories. In fact, you probably already know someone who has (and raves) about their pillowcases and hair scrunchies—and they really are worth the hype. Slip uses a trademarked silk fabric that features extra-long mulberry silk fibers with a 22 momme thickness, and our reviewer found the pillowcase to have the overall softest feel.
You get to choose between zipper or envelope closures, as well as a whopping 24 color options, so there are plenty of ways to customize your purchase. Although this pillowcase lost points for having some sizing issues, it helped our reviewer wake up with hair that looked so good she had no problem leaving the house as is.

Available in both standard and King sizes, Brooklinen's pillowcase stands out for the fun patterns it comes in. Aside from three neutral solid colors, there's also a dreamy celestial pattern plus a rotating selection of limited edition patterns to choose from. Hill House Home
Material: Mulberry silk | Weight: 22 momme | Sizes: Standard, King | Care: Machine wash delicate
You might know Hill House Home for their iconic nap dresses, but the brand also sells a truly luxurious silk pillowcase that you'll want to keep on your radar. Unlike other silk pillowcases that come with an envelope closure, Hill House Home's pillowcase is complete with an unobtrusive zipper that'll keep the pillowcase from sliding off the pillow.
Made from 22-momme Mulberry silk, this pillowcase is on the high end and comes in much fewer options that similar products. It tends to sell out fast, but once you do get one you'll be treated to an impressively soft feel that holds up after washing.
Best Set: Sleep Number Silk Pillowcase and Sleep Mask Set

Material: Mulberry silk | Weight: 21 momme | Sizes: Standard, King | Care: Machine wash delicate
If you're looking for a great gift or just want to really treat yourself, consider a silk pillowcase set that also comes with a silk eye mask for extra luxury. You might be surprised to learn that Sleep Number sells one of the best silk sets out there, but it's true—the brand's silk pillowcase feels extra soft, and resulted in zero frizz for our reviewer.
The only downside is that it's available in only two colors (white and gray), and, although it stayed soft after washing, it stained more easily than other pillowcases. All in all though, this is a high-quality silk set that you (or someone special) will love.
Final Verdict
Overall, we recommend the Fishers Finery Silk Pillowcase (view at Amazon), because it's silky smooth, washes well, and made our tester's hair noticeably less frizzy. Plus, it's surprisingly affordable for the high quality. For something even more budget-friendly, we recommend the Quince Silk Pillowcase (view at Quince), because it looks and feels luxurious and holds up even better than more expensive options.
What to Look for in a Silk Pillowcase
Silk Type
There are lots of different types of silk, but Mulberry silk is widely considered the top choice for pillowcases. It's produced from silkworms that are fed a strict diet of Mulberry leaves, resulting in a fabric that is exceptionally smooth, cool to the touch, and durable. Pillowcases made from 100 percent Mulberry silk can be pricey, but it's worth paying a premium for a pillowcase that will last.
Momme Weight
Momme is the unit of measurement used to determine a silk's weight and, subsequently, its quality. For pillowcases, a momme weight between 20-25 is considered premium, and silk with a momme weight in the 15-19 range will still be exceptionally smooth, but not quite as durable. That said, they're generally a more affordable option and could be a good choice for an "entry-level" silk pillowcase.
Construction
Silk is exceptional at reducing friction, which is one of the reasons why silk pillowcases are so great for your hair and skin. But, this also means they can slip off pillows much more easily than a cotton or linen pillowcase. Look for silk pillowcases that have an envelope or zippered closure rather than just an open end, which will go a long way in keeping them in place overnight.
