Inside Terry and Heather Dubrow's Orange County Mansion

Welcome to the house that reality television built. Terry and Heather Dubrow, of E!'s Botched and Bravo's The Real Housewives of Orange County, respectively, graciously invited Architectural Digest into their 22,000-square-foot Orange County home, fondly known as the "Dubrow Chateau."

Considering modesty isn't exactly the couple's forté, the home is just as over-the-top as you'd expect. A towel-warming drawer, pinball machine hallway, 21-seat movie theater, and an actual champagne button in Heather's primary bedroom closet are just a few of the luxurious amenities.

"It's like Kelly Wearstler threw up in the house. I love her. I love her design style," said Heather, who decorated the entire home herself, opting for a completely neutral color palette and plenty of materials and textures, like stone, leather, and wood. "I didn’t repeat fabrics, but I used the same tones or the same fabrics in different colors, in different rooms," she confirms. "There are repeating elements in that respect."

While the Dubrows hold a reputation for being constantly on the go (they've taken up residence in 18 homes in 22 years), this house may be the one that keeps their feet planted. "We've honestly never lived anywhere longer than three years. But I think this is the first house we've been in that feels like our true home." Step inside the famed Dubrow Estate.

The Family Room

The most jaw-dropping room in the Chateau may be the open concept kitchen-family room, which boasts enough space to occupy three-quarters of a football field. "It was very important to me that the house flowed really well, that everyone’s spaces were good, and that it just functioned," says Heather. "If your house is too maze-y, it feels like a rabbit warren."

The couple's Restoration Hardware living room couch was chosen with both comfort and style in mind. "If you’re at all tired when you sit on it, you immediately want to take a nap," says Terry.

A Kitchen Built to Entertain

It turns out that, like many of us, the members of the Dubrow house weren't always on the same page when it came to making design decisions. "I didn’t like the way she was doing the kitchen; I couldn’t see it. It seemed stark and too clinical for me," Terry confesses. But "the way it came together, it’s anything but."

A statement marble island with a built-in trough is filled with ice, stick caviar, and champagne when guests join them at the "Dubrow Chateau." "Everyone just stands around the island and talks and eats. It’s really conducive to casual entertaining," Heather says. Chrome accents are consistent throughout the room for an added dose of modern luxury.

The Primary Bedroom

"Our primary bedroom is ridiculous. It’s large, but again, weirdly intimate," notes Terry. While the size of the primary bedroom keeps with the extravagant and luxurious theme of the rest of the home, the patterned carpet and layered textures keep this neutral space feeling warm and inviting.
